The Rockcastle County Vocational School held its annual blood drive December 4th, allowing volunteers another chance to donate the valuable, life-saving liquid.
During the drive, 49 students actually gave and even more tried to donate. Four teachers also gave blood.
The chance to donate was offered only to students enrolled in vocational classes.
The vocational Heath Science teacher, Mrs. Childress, helped with the drive and gave blood herself. She noted that the blood contributed was to be given to the same organization that R.C.H.S. supplies during its own blood drive.
Students at the high school will have one final chance to contribute when R.C.H.S. has its second drive during the final semester of the school year.
